WordPress Updates – Core, Themes and Plugins

Maintenance is serious business when it comes to WordPress. Ensuring your website remains fast, secure and functional is my top priority. Websites are monitored 24/7 for uptime and performance. 

Core, theme and plugin updates are applied on a regular basis — but not automatically. Each updated is applied and tested manually to ensure they don’t break your website or cause conflicts with other plugins. 

Security updates are applied right away; however, most other updates are applied a few days later. This helps ensure any kinks are worked out by the plugin developer. 

Server Updates

Security patches are applied automatically, and all other regular server maintenance is completed during off-peak hours on a regular schedule. 

Each customer’s WordPress website is hosted on its own Virtual Private Server (VPS). We are a Cloudways Agency Partner (Silver) — and host most of our websites with them. 

When evaluating your needs, we’ll custom-build your VPS to meet your resource and traffic needs. Your website will be hosted on a server close to you and distributed around the world on our network on Edge Servers (Powered by Cloudflare) — ensuring no matter where your visitors are located, your website loads FAST.

Uptime & Domain Monitoring dashboard.

My WordPress management system monitors your website and domain for uptime, performance and critical errors — 24/7. If a problem occurs, I’m alerted right away.

Although website downtime is very rare, any incidents will show up in your monthly website report. 

WordPress security is my top priority. I take a ground-up approach, ensuring your website is protected on the server, application and network level. 

Server Security

Your server is hardened out of the box and protected further with our Web Application Firewall (WAF) powered by Immunify 365. This software service monitors all traffic to your website, automatically blacklisting IP addresses from unwanted or unauthorized access by humans and bots. 

WordPress Security

We install 2-factor authentication (2FA) for all admin accounts, requiring a one-time password or email confirmation to log in. 

You’re WordPress website will also have brute force protection, login captcha and strong password enforcement to further lock down your back end. 

Network Security

We use Cloudflare to further secure and block bad bots at the network level further protecting your website and server from unwanted access by bad actors, bots and DDoS attacks.

Yes. I can manage and host your DNS records (fees apply). I can help you add and remove DNS records safely. Most commonly, people need help setting up their DNS for email services, mailing lists and other third-party services that require DNS authentication. 

DNS hosting is available through my DNS Made Easy addon. A service that offers instant propagation, ensuring updates are reflected right away (some services take up to 48 hours to propagate around the internet), faster load times and 100% uptime in recent years.

Yes. I offer both basic email (webmail + SMTP) hosting as well as Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace setup. 

Yes! This is where I shine! When you transfer or launch a site with me, all the basic performance optimization is included.

For those needing a little more work, I do offer optimization consulting, where I do a deep dive into your website to optimize it.
